  • CANEGROWERS Mackay is once again running a haulout training course, funded by the Skilling Queenslanders for Work Initiative through the Deparment of Employment and Small Business and Training, with 10 placements on offer. This 4 day course commences on 9 May.  Addtionally this year, funding has been procured through Queensland Agricultural Workforce Network (QAWN) for a further 10 placements, with this course commencing on May 16.
    Each 4 day course will train participants across four units of competency in the operation of cane haulage vehicles, tractors, operational machinery maintenance, and Workplace Health and Safety.  To find out more and to register for screening, contact  Shelley Dent or Peter Albertson at CANEGROWERS Mackay on 4944 2600.

  • *NEW - Pricing Essentials for Cane Growers Program
    CANEGROWERS has teamed with TAFE Queensland and the Rural Jobs Skills Alliance to create a course for sugarcane growers in this new environment.
    The course will develop:
    the ability to better understand and interpret financial reports and costs of production
    * understanding of factors that influence commodity (sugar) prices
    * strategies to manage the risk of price fluctuations
    * knowledge of forward pricing tools and other emerging technologies and marketing tools
    * understanding and management of business risks
