Coming up: ‘Thank you’ barbecue and bag collection sites closing
A BURGER and a beer – or soft drink - will be laid on for Ravensdown Fertiliser Australia (RFA) customers in the Mackay and Plane Creek regions on Friday January 18.
RFA customers in these districts are invited to attend the barbecue being hosted by CANEGROWERS Mackay and RFA to say thank you for their support to the grower-owned cooperative throughout 2012.
Mackay’s RFA spokesperson account manager Wayne Berginey said all existing customers were invited to attend the barbecue and drinks at the Ravensdown storage and distribution facility at Lot 3 Milton Street (look for the big green silo) from 4pm.
“In conjunction with CANEGROWERS Mackay we want to say thank you for the support of cane growers in these cane growing areas and we also want to thank the staff at CANEGROWERS Mackay for their unwavering support.”
Those attending are asked to RSVP to CANEGROWERS Mackay on 4944 2600.

Bag Collection Site Brief
CANE growers are advised that all Ravensdown Fertiliser Australia (RFA) Mackay region bag collection sites will cease operating from January 31, 2013.
Mackay Region Account Manager Wayne Berginey said despite the closure fertiliser bags could still be returned to the RFA’s Mackay distribution facility at Lot 3, Milton Street (look for the big green silo).
“Growers can bring their bags in all they have to do is give me a call so I can arrange to be there. Those that cannot return them are asked to store the bags in a dry area out of direct sunlight until collection sites reopen again in June,” Mr Berginey said.
“We are very pleased to say cane growers have been very speedy in returning their bags this season. The cost savings this generates – by being able to reuse the bags – are passed back on to shareholders in the form of rebates.”
